Is It Safe To See The Prosthodontist During COVID-19?

Wondering if you can come and see Dr. Candice Vinson at Advanced Dentistry of Mount Pleasant during the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak? We’re open for business, and we’re taking every step we can to keep you and your family safe and healthy when you come to see us. Wondering what steps we’re taking to protect you? Read on, and learn more about the infection control procedures and best practices we’re following at Advanced Dentistry of Mount Pleasant.

Social Distancing & Patient Checks

First, we’re taking steps to maintain social distancing at our office. We have reconfigured our waiting areas to provide at least 6 feet of distance between each patient, and we also allow patients to wait in their cars before their appointment to ensure minimal patient-to-patient contact.

We have also taken steps to reduce the number of patients we’re seeing at any given time. We request that you come to your appointment alone, unless you need assistance, and we have spread out our appointments throughout the day, and reduced the overall number of appointments we provide each day. Together, these steps help minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Enhanced Operatory Cleaning Procedures

We have always followed OSHA, CDC and ADA requirements for cleaning and disinfection operatories between patients, but we have stepped up our cleaning procedures even further.

We are disinfecting and sanitizing all of the surfaces in our operatories between patients, and taking steps such as leaving used PPE in the operatory for proper disposal to minimize the risk of cross-contamination between patients.

Handwashing And Sanitizing For Staff And Patients

We provide all of our patients with the opportunity to clean their hands before and after their appointment using soap and water, and we also have hand sanitizer available. In addition, our staff members follow all best practices for hand hygiene, minimizing the risk of pathogen spread.

PPE For All Staff Members

All of our front office staff members are wearing masks to keep them safe, and our dental team members are wearing all recommended PPE for dental procedures, including N95 masks, eye protection, face shields, gowns, and other such protective equipment.

Frequent Disinfection & Cleaning Of Common Surfaces

We are taking every possible precaution to eliminate potentially-harmful pathogens from common surfaces in our office, including chairs, tables, doorknobs, countertops, bathrooms, and other such surfaces that are commonly touched by our patients and staff members. Routine cleaning and disinfection of these surfaces helps keep both you and our staff safe.
